Homewood Health Centre has a long tradition of quality, innovation and compassionate care. Established in 1883, Homewood is dedicated to improving the lives of our patients with high quality psychiatric care. A local, provincial and national resource, we offer a number of specialized mental and behavioural health care programs with better outcomes and at lower cost than any other comparable facility in Canada. Our professional expertise and commitment to the highest standards of excellence, distinguish Homewood as a vital part of the Canadian health care system.

In 2005, Homewood was the proud recipient of the Canada Awards for Excellence – Healthy Workplace Award, recognized by the National Quality Institute as a workplace committed to health and wellness. We believe that for a health care organization to achieve success, those who care for our patients must also be healthy, both mentally and physically. Homewood has always achieved the highest standards in quality care and is a recipient of the prestigious National Quality Award. Although winning awards is always gratifying, we believe the day-to-day individual and team efforts of our staff and volunteers, and their dedication in caring for patients, are, and always have been, fundamental to our success.

We strive at all levels of the organization to provide a workplace that focuses on every aspect of health - physical, social and spiritual. Among our priorities we are actively working to reduce the stigma of mental illness through public education. We are also educating employers about their role in, and the benefits of, creating and maintaining a healthy work environment.
