Program for Older Adults

Canada's older adult population is growing rapidly and with this comes a need for specialized psychiatric services. Geriatric Psychiatry is a specialized discipline providing assessment and treatment for adults with dementias and depression.

In-Patient Assessment and Treatment

Mental illness in adults may be related to physical, emotional, social and/or environmental changes. The Program for Older Adults offers treatment guided by an expert interdisciplinary team for assessment, treatment, recommendations for management of care, and discharge planning.

Homewood's holistic approach to clinical assessment and treatment provides the patient with the opportunity to explore physical, psychological, psycho-social, and spiritual issues and the resulting emotions and behaviours.

We offer a full range of biological, psychological, and social interventions.

We help our patients explore themes of self-worth, meaning, purpose and hope, which we believe are integral to improving quality of life.
